Project goals
The primary goal was to restore the structural integrity and smoothness of Butternut Drive while keeping the road open and accessible throughout construction. The project aimed to improve safety, extend pavement life, and deliver a smooth driving experience for local residents, commuters, and nearby businesses.
Our approach
The Michigan Paving crew began by cold milling two inches of existing asphalt to remove the worn surface. Once milling was complete, we applied a leveling course followed by a top course using high-quality hot mix asphalt produced at one of our nearby plants. Shoulder gravel and driveway transitions were completed to blend seamlessly with the new pavement. Striping and traffic control were also handled by our team. Efficient scheduling and strong communication helped us stay ahead of schedule without compromising quality.
